Rod Taylor serves as Quality Assurance manager at VTI. He brings to VTI his experience in project management and the development of commercial software applications for the surveillance, land survey, design, and construction markets. He has experience in video surveillance, GPS, 3D visualization and simulation, user-interface design, and development of complex engineering systems.
Rod has over fifteen years experience working for Trimble Navigation and for Lockheed Martin, where he holds a copyright in 3D computer-based training and simulation. He holds a patent in video ortho-rectification. He has worked for the U.S. DOE, the University of Tennessee, and Georgia Tech. Taylor holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Rod's interests include drawing, team sports, church drama, reading, and spending time with family. He and his wonderful wife, Polly, have been married since 1988. They live in Oak Ridge.
