This mode provides an analog display with scanned mass plotted against ion current incident on the electron multiplier or faraday cup. An example is shown left.
Analog mode is unique in providing 'raw' information rather than the 'processed' information that is graphically displayed in other modes such as Histogram or Trend.
The ability to monitor the direct signal generated by the AERO VAC is key in verifying operation - it is the only mode in which the user can truly view the resolution performance and mass scale alignment.
