News - VTI and PCU Form Strategic Alliance!...

VTI and PCU combine technologies to offer turnkey solutions to Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Tier 1 Automotive Production Industry
Oak Ridge TN and Dayton OH, December 16th: Vacuum Technology Incorporated (VTI) of Oak Ridge TN and Sterling PCU, a division of Sterling Fluid Systems, a world leader in fluid handling, have announced the formation of a strategic alliance offering turnkey production process solutions for Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Automotive production and test facilities.

The Alliance offers engineered solutions for product filling, leak testing, gas and liquid recovery, run testing of components or complete systems and material conveying and handling. Each of these systems can be integrated with plant communications systems for product and quality tracking purposes. The companies are established leaders in their respective fields serving major heavy duty and light vehicle manufactures as well as market segment leaders such as Trane, Whirlpool, Goodman, General Electric, Rheem, Copeland and Carrier.

"By aligning Sterling PCU’s breadth of application experience with VTI’s depth of technical knowledge, the strategic alliance offers customers a unique "one stop" value proposition while positioning both companies as the premier solutions supplier and service provider to these industries", said Tom Hoge, President of PCU. "The leverage created by the alliance is already impacting business potential for both companies, especially with customers looking to work with knowledgeable suppliers of their entire production process. Together, we are looking at the supply of complete production lines alongside our individual abilities to supply discrete charging and test systems", said George Solomon, President and Founder of VTI.

2003 will kick off with both companies exhibiting at the ASHRAE convention in Chicago. Joint activities are planned for other shows throughout the year along with a series of training courses intended to address factors critical to the production environment. "For example, PCU and VTI can reduce the on-going cost of testing by offering Helium or Refrigerant recovery systems in parallel with Helium or Refrigerant leak testing systems" added Kevin Buxton, Director of Global Business Alliances.

Whether for a new production line, an update of an existing installation or for specific instrumentation needs, contact VTI or PCU to discuss how we may address your requirements.
